Where Can HiTOP Be Used?
1. Intake and Weir Monitoring
The intake is one of the most useful monitoring points at a hydropower site.
A camera overlooking the intake can help operators check:
intake screen condition;
debris accumulation;
water level and flow conditions;
surrounding infrastructure.
After a storm, the operator can remotely inspect the site first.
If everything looks normal, an unnecessary trip may be avoided. If debris has accumulated, the maintenance team knows what to expect before arriving.

2. Turbine House Security
At the turbine house, CCTV is mainly used for asset protection.
Cameras can monitor doors, surrounding approaches, maintenance activity and unauthorised access.
Because HiTOP operates independently from the site's main electrical system, the CCTV equipment does not have to rely entirely on the same power infrastructure it is protecting.
