The wire cables for the led lights from the batteries to the top of the mast can be spring cable with a protection tube, or built-in the telescopic mast. Both are Ok, just for your options.
But to put inside the telescopic mast, it will be protected better.
The solar panel wire cables are in a metal tube for better protection too.
